Cheesy Potatoes

This recipe is a family favorite during the Holidays or any other day! Simple to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5 cups peeled, sliced potatoes
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper until smooth.
  • Gradually add in milk. Bring to a boil; stir and cook for 2 minutes or until thick.
  • Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted. Add onions.
  • Layer potato slices in a greased 2-qt baking dish. Pour cheese mixture over top.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Uncover and bake for 30 to 40 minutes longer until the potatoes are tender.
