Cheesy Potatoes
This recipe is a family favorite during the Holidays or any other day! Simple to make.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 5 cups peeled, sliced potatoes
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper until smooth.
- Gradually add in milk. Bring to a boil; stir and cook for 2 minutes or until thick.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted. Add onions.
- Layer potato slices in a greased 2-qt baking dish. Pour cheese mixture over top.
- Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
- Uncover and bake for 30 to 40 minutes longer until the potatoes are tender.
