Banana Nut Bread

This sweet, nutty bread is a classic and is perfect for breakfast, brunch, dessert or a snack.

Servings 3 loaves

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 lrg eggs, beaten
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped (pecans, walnuts work well)

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar together until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time and mix well.
  • Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk. Mix well.
  • Add bananas and nuts.
  • Pour into (3) greased loaf pans and bake at 325° for 45 to 55 minutes.
